Protect your valuable documents and electronics with the First Alert 2013F Water and Fire Protector File Chest. This waterproof and fire-resistant safe secures your valuables with a locking, clamping-style latch. It has also been verified by an independent testing lab to protect electronic media, including memory sticks, CDs, DVDs, and external hard drives. This fire-resistant chest can withstand external temperatures of up to 1550 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 30 minutes. And thanks to the waterproof seal, the document safe keeps contents dry even if it is fully submerged.
Does the job
I have not actually tested if it is waterproof or fireproof, but assuming it is like it is says it is, GREAT! :) The only issue was my external harddrive barely fit and I couldn't fit my 8.5x11 paper work in there because it was to small. But not a big deal, they sell larger ones.EcoRaven
I would recommend this to others.
I should have paid closer attention to measurements. It was a little smaller than I thought but big enough to hold full size sheets of paper laying flat. It says it can be submerged in water and still be water proof, I hope to not find out if this works or not but it is why I got it after my sisters house was flooded by her refrigerator. I have irreplaceable sentimental items in it. It also says fireproof. It is light enough to easily pick up and carry away in an emergency. It has a button to push to open. Its easy to open and close. I might buy another one for my son for his new house.MBernadetteD
I tried the sentry safe before this one, and this one feels more sturdy and less cheaply made. Not exactly a safe since a thief can just take the whole thing away, but good enoughFrank
