Stack-On Limited Edition 18-Gun Fully Convertible Steel Security Cabinet in Blue holds 18 rifles or shotguns up to 54 inches tall, nine firearms and storage or all storage. This is a California-approved firearm safety device that meets the requirements of Penal Code section 23655 and the regulations issued thereunder. A three-point locking system with double-bitted, key coded lock provides greater security. This Steel Security Cabinet includes four removable shelves and a top shelf, foam padding and patented barrel rests and standoffs.
I purchased two of these and recieved them today. Rollback for 119.99 each. The quality and value is exceptional. Cabinets at 170-200 are not as nice. The Key is TAPED to the inside of the clear plastic that is around the safe in the box, im betting many people who said they didnt receive keys didnt see them and threw them away.
Anyways, GREAT PRODUCT for the price. Sturdy, awesome color, comes with foam for the shelves. Assembly is easy but annoying alone due to having to reach around the door and in the safe to install the barrel rests.
If you want a gun cabinet BUY THESE but remember this IS NOT A SAFE, its a security cabinet.Boots
Cost effective security
I like the dark blue color. It's still small enough to fit in small and hidden places. As for the cabinet itself, first, recognize this is not a safe, its a cabinet. There's a difference. Arrived via FEDEX according to their delivery estimate. The cardboard was damaged but the contents were still in prefect condition. I installed the rifle holders along the side and the upper shelf with no troubles. I did not install the option side shelves. Note: This can be set up to hold all firearms, all storage or half and half. I did the all firearms.Straightshooter
Great cabinet, shipping AWFUL
Great cabinet. Love the size and the ability to customize the shelving. What I did NOT like, was the shipping process. The cabinet came with MULTIPLE dents on the body and some on the shelves. I was not about to return it as it would have been WAY too much of a hassle. Most dents pounded out ok but to be honest, I didn’t buy it for the looks so I’m not too upset about it.wkp515
Stack-on Stack-Off Daniel Son
Overall, what I expected. A cabinet that can keep curious hands out.
Came in a huge box. And also as expected there was some damage to the unit. However, unlike other posts stating they had various dents, mine had a crease in the metal on either side of the front which you should be able to see in the picture. To me it looks like a careless job loading via forklift or hand truck. Seems that Stack-On has issues warehousing or shipping these units. Regardless, I kept it as it isn’t worth the hassle of loading and returning in hopes that I received one with less damage. Just know that to expect some damage on your unit.
The exterior is fully assembled, you’ll have to assembly the interior shelving and barrel rests. There is one odd bit in the instructions, best I could tell they say to put the barrel rests in first before the divider that connects the shelving. But in reality the divider needs to go in first before the barre rests as they will go over the divider. Not a huge deal but something that could be negated simply in the instructions. Otherwise assembly wasn’t too difficult.
I did bolt to some decking that I built as a base and to the studs in a wall behind the unit. Although wanting to keep the unit away from the basement wall I wasn’t able to catch the pre-drilled holes in the back of the into and had to drill my own.
One other “issue” I have is with the barrel rests. As you’ll see in the picture my modern sporting rifle is lifted up with two cases of shotgun ammo. Reason for this is that there is only one, pre-determined height of the barrel rest. Your guns either fit or they don’t. No option to move. I would like to see an optional barrel rest position for shorter gun lengths. I’ll solve this later on with a magnetic rest. Again, not a huge deal but seems like they only gave thought to longer barrel guns. I imagine many of us now have a sporting rifle or pistol build that these simply won’t work for.
I would suggest a light source. I grabbed a magnetic one that works great. Otherwise it’s pretty dark in the cabinet. Oh and I can stack the smaller Plano style ammo bins two tall if that helps anyone’s decision on how to build the shelves.Jimmy2shots
Dints but otherwise it's a good deal.
Shipping to my local Walmart to try and avoid the dents but it was shipped UPS anyway. Still got some dents. Other then that it's a good heavy locker. I ordered 3. The most rifles I was able to fit in was 16. I Had to be creative and drill a few hols to adjusted for my AR's and AK's to fit. The extra scope spaceres worked really good. Solid product. Just wish the shipping had a better way to handle big heavy objects.y6mustang
