packaging needs improvement
Good safe. Nice features. Bad packaging. Outside had some minor scratches, so I accepted it. But the inside showed the insulation tiles broken in a few places and a couple of joints that hold the divider in place had broken off from the insulation. Not sure why they would not put packaging material on the inside. It's a hassle to return it, so I patched up the insulation and decided to keep it. For the price I paid, i think it is ok.bouree
It was 3 days late and had to return it because top right hand corner weld was broke, dented, and then they give me a gift card to reorder and I can’t reorder for the same price I got it forJF
That is perfect for my needsCarlos
Great Safe for the money
I wanted a good quality, sturdy safe that offered more security than a gun cabinet. I was not interested in spending $800-$1500 on a safe that would be impossible to take with me if I ever moved and costs more than the items I was trying to protect. I did a lot of research, read reviews and watched all the youtube videos of people breaking into safes (even the very expensive safes). I decided on getting the Stack-On 14 gun fire resident safe because of it's size, electronic lock, sturdiness, fire residence, and the ability to customize the inside to fit my needs. The price seemed to range from $700 on the high end to $399 at Home Depot. Then a friend told me that Wal-Mart had them in their stores for $297. I went to my local Wal-Mart and bought this safe. It says Sentinel on the front but it is the same Stack-On safe that sells for $400-$800.
I am very happy with this safe. It is very solid but not impossible to move for 2 men. It weighs about 260 pounds but if you take the door off it makes it much easier to move into position. There was no damage to my safe when I took it out of the box and everything worked the way it was suppose to. Once I bolt it to the ground and wall it will be very difficult for your average burglar to get into or take the whole safe. The only minor complaint is the carpet on the shelves is very thin and not attached very well. I fixed this issue myself. I don't think you could get a better safe for $297. It is hardly much more than I would have paid for a thin gun cabinet, which I know can be pried open with a screwdriver. Nobody is getting into this safe with a screwdriver. I would highly recommend this safe.Matt
Great Gun Safe at this Price Point
Great value for price point for this starter gun safe. Safe arrived with a couple minor scratches and took 10 days for delivery. I wasn't too concerned with a couple of scratches so I still gave it 5 stars. Compared to other better high end safes this wouldn't make that class. I'm not comparing a VW against a Rolls Royce. I was looking for a Gun Safe that is Fire Resistant below $450. This is it. I looked online and read a ton of reviews. For the money and expectations this truly met my criteria. Combo lock, Shelves, Sturdy, Heavy, Carpeted, Mounting ready, appeal from well known brand. I got this safe for $300 on sale brand new. No safe is unhackable. With that being said why spend $1500 on a safe that can still be broken in in less than 5 mins with a couple of crow bars. The goal is to be child proof and to keep your arsenal safe from run of the mill smash and run burglars. This does the job. No regrets. Get itGone247
